REBUILDING TOGETHER LOWELL MAKES APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FOR NO COST HOME REPAIR AND IMPROVEMENT

WHAT

For those who live in the City of Lowell and are in need of repairs to their home, Rebuilding Together Lowell may be able to help.  Applications are available to anyone who, due to physical or financial constraints, is unable to maintain their homes in safe, warm, and dry living conditions. The program accepts an unlimited number of applications. Because all work is performed by volunteers using donated materials there is no cost to the homeowner. Board members will visit each home to interview applicants and review their renovation needs.

WHEN

Applications are available during the fall for the following year. Please visit the Application page to find out more. Rebuilding day occurs on the last Saturday of every April.

WHO

Low-income, elderly, or disabled residents, veterans, and families with children who live in owner-occupied homes in Lowell, and have homeowners insurance are eligible to participate.

BACKGROUND

Rebuilding Together Lowell is an all-volunteer organization started by Peter Richards in 1997 as Christmas in April*Lowell.  Its mission is to renovate the homes of Lowell residents who are low-income, elderly, disabled, veterans, or families with children. The program relies upon material donations, sponsorships, and volunteers to complete the renovations.  To date, Rebuilding Together Lowell has repaired more than 110 homes and invested over $1 million in Lowell's neighborhoods.
